Due to a limited number of dorm rooms most students live "off campus" in privately-owned apartments or condos. The University of Texas operates a free shuttle (for students only) going to designated parts of town. Here is a link to Shuttle Bus Routes and Schedules.

Northwest: (Far West) Pre-leasing for June/August move-ins starting January 15th.  Pre-leasing for January move-ins starting December 1 of the previous year. Generally a nine month minimum lease is required. Many one and two bedroom apartments, catering to students, are scattered throughout the Northwest area. They are all a short shuttle ride away from school.

Northeast: (Cameron Road) Pre-leasing for June/August move-ins starting January 15th. Pre-leasing for January move-ins starting December 1st of the previous year. Generally a nine month minimum lease is required. A UT shuttle is conveniently located with in walking distance of most apartment complexes. The shuttle is a short 7 minute bus ride from campus.

Central/University: (West and North Campus) Most properties in this area require a 9 to 12 month lease beginning in either June or August. These units range from studios ($495) to condos (2-2's at $1050 and above). Some furnished apartments are also available for June/August move-ins. Most of these units are close enough to walk to UT or ACC. Pre-leasing for June/August move-ins start January 15th. Pre-leasing for January move-ins start December 1st of the previous year.

South: (Riverside, Oltorf) Pre-leasing for June/August move-ins starting January 15th.  Pre-leasing for January move-ins starting December 1 of the previous year. Generally a nine month minimum lease is required. Most units are walking distance to a UT shuttle. It is about a 15 minute bus ride from campus.
